Frequently Asked Questions

1. How long will the treatment last?
In all the treatment and consultation will last one hour.

2. How should I come dressed?
You should preferably be wearing loose clothing, as this will make you feel more comfortable. If you are wearing tights, please remove them before your treatment.

3.How will I feel during and after my treatment?
Most people feel very relaxed and sometimes fall asleep. Some people can feel a tingling sensation and others a numbness in various parts of the body. Some people have what is called a healing reaction after the treatment this comes in various forms such as thirsty, emotional, mild tiredness, an increased desire to visit the lavatory, a runny nose or you may feel you have a surge of energy. If you experience any of these reactions they are part of the healing process and they will not normally last more than 24 hours.

4. How many treatments should I have?
This varies but a series of treatments may be needed to make a significant change to your condition. You may choose to visit weekly until a consistent improvement is recorded, progressing to fortnightly and then to monthly intervals. After a course of treatments you may choose to come regularly to help maintain good health.

5. If I am pregnant can I still have reflexology?
Obviously when you are pregnant you want to make sure that everything you do is safe for both you and your baby. Reflexology is generally considered safe in pregnancy, provided all is well with your pregnancy and your reflexologist knows that you’re pregnant. However, some reflexologists will not treat a pregnant woman during the first trimester. The Association of Reflexologists (AOR) says that this is due to a misplaced patient fear that reflexology may cause a miscarriage.

"There is no evidence to even suggest that this may be the case,” the AOR says. “However, as miscarriages are more common in the first term of pregnancy, some reflexologists are not prepared to take the risk that the client may blame them should a miscarriage occur.”

6. Is there anything I should do after my treatment?
It is suggested that you drink plenty of water for a period of 24 hours after your treatment to help rid the body of toxins that have been released in the feet by the treatment.
(that is if you don't normally drink an ample amount water)
